SO you may remember that I got a new case fan for my PC the other day=
http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=22267.msg428404#msg428404Today I decided to install it. Front plate pops off, a little bit of trouble with it but not difficult. Old fan gets disconnected and unscrewed.
I take the new fan in my hand, and notice that the PWM cable is too short to reach the connector on the motherboard.
"Oh well" I think.
"It seems I require a extension cable"I put my old fan back and connect it. I start to look for other places to put the new fan in my case until I can get an extension cable, because why not.
Most of the fan positions are out of reach as well.
It would fit on the top, though. I try to put these little rubber feet thingies trough the screw holes, so that I can then put them through the corresponding holes on the fan.
The damn RAM stick is in the way for that.
I don't feel like trying it with the screws instead, I say
"fuck it, I'll get an extension cable later".
I begin to pack all of the stuff that came with the fan back into the box.
And then i see it.
IT DID COME WITH AN EXTENSION CABLE.
I just didn't look hard enough for it.
Now it's all done though, and my PC sounds unnaturally quiet compared to what I'm used to.
