To my veterans:

Today we celebrate your bravery, but we also remember your many sacrifices.  We mourn your visible and invisible wounds.  And we (the civilians) will puzzle over your experiences, which we must inevitably fail to comprehend.  It’s only fitting, though, that we try.

We pray 1) for your healing, 2) that our collective gratitude will not be expressed in words ONLY, and 3) that in the proper time, you can transition back to a civilian life that is full of joy, prosperity, and peace.

Religious and non-religious can all join me in this distant hope, that your work will accomplish its long-term goal:

“And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”

My English teacher sent that to our emails today. Cool dude.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Guys help I cant decide, do I reheat some sausage stew for lunch when I get home or do I go out to ihop got some free pancakes? On one hand, it means I get to save the sausage for tomorrow. On the other hand, it means going home, changing, preferably showering too, then driving back out the way I just came from.
