Tax day may have cost Bernie a vote

I filed my taxes. I made $75k, of which they took $15k out of my check. Now I owe $4k more.

No matter how you cut it, that's an effective tax rate of 25%.

Now social matters are important to me. But 25% of my income important? I don't think so. The Obama tax plan sucks badly.

This year the Dems cannot count on my vote.

If Verb is willing to have a middle ground, 25% is a bit low, but no one should have half their income taken away.

I mean, Rich aren't taxed enough but DAMN. 30% should be the cap for anyone just...damn.

I myself would argue 35-39 percent is decent, then again if you're making in the millions, you probably don't really care.

That's my point.

There's so many otherwise to make "the rich pay more" than just income tax. Groceries at stores nearby gated communities aren't the same price or cheaper than groceries at stores near slums.

Technology is a place where "trickle down economics" actually works. The crazy ass high-tech options that were only available in 100,000 dollar luxury or purpose-built sports cars ten years ago are commonplace in a mid size family car today, and it's because those at the top were able to fund the development of the technology when it was new.

tbh if you're paying your marginal rate for your bracket you are probably missing some deductions or exemptions. Fire your tax guy.

But yeah, 25% doesn't sound too bad until you're effectively handing over 3 months of income to the government.
