You are wrong on all parts.

Excessive consumption for prolonged periods can damage parts of the brain, but it doesn't "kill brain cells" and it's nothign a week of sobriety won't let you repair. But again, you have to be a raging alcoholic for noticeable damage to occur. [1] You also need to a a legitimate functioning alcoholic for a few years before we see the onset of alcoholic liver disease or alcoholic fatty liver [2], and again, mild consumption will not cause this. The average American will not die from alcohol related liver disease.

Your weight gain claims are bogus science based on how you claim it's from the alcohol. It's not. Heavy beer drinkers get fat from the carbs. Beer is basically liquid bread after all. Wine drinkers from the suger, suger is very high in calories and easy to convert to fat. Drinkers who prefer high proof spirits will generally not see a grand change in weight or body composition (unless they were particularly muscle heavy gym type before) because your body can not and will not process the calories in alcohol like it would the calories in food. A big thing with heavy drinkers and weight gain is that they often eat poorly as well, and eat extra while they binge drink. That's the real problem, not the alcohol itself. Remember, alcohol is never fully metabolized (outside of rare cases due to medical conditions) and mostly expelled from the body as acetic acid.

Man I hate the way most alcohol tastes but I really enjoy cider. Especially the mixed fruits stuff.

I'm picky about wine too, and I usually mix it with fruit juice. I like sangria, but either with fruit punch or as a margarita

Wine is kinda meh, even the good stuff. Apple ale is where it's at.
