Protesting is fun

So schools in multiple states have added even more standardized tests so a lot of high school students are opting/walking out of them. My school is one of them. My senior class had everyone but 4 people walk out of standardized tests so I have had the whole day off except one class. What do I do with all this spare time?

The test has no effect on grades or GPA and put on no college/job applications. Not against school rules to walk out or opt out. I may be homeless for the rest of my life but it would not be because of this test.

Because PARCC is a new more advanced version of old TCAP/ CSAP testing only on computers because they need it to be even more complicated. And no child left behind is a thing.

Being out of the classroom and/or off campus without the school's permission makes you a liability to the school. Only under emergency circumstances should it be allowed. Protesting a test is not an emergency.

The fact that you think protesting is fun gives me the impression that you don't really care about what you're there for, just that you get out of class.

Protesting is about delivering a message and promoting change. If you just out there chanting some bullshit without giving the administration or the state an alternative or solution to the problem, you're wasting your time.

I don't see how I can not protest for something I think is right and not think it's fun. I think I am doing this for the right reasons. I am informed and I made the choice myself. I just get extra benefits because of it.
