Super Best Friends Youtube channel is finished

I doubt a lot of you watch them/know who they are but they were my favorite guys to watch on Youtube. They've consistently entertained me with their antics and LPs, and it sucks that they had to call it quits. I get the whole 'why would I watch other people playing a game when I can just play it myself?' thing but personally I loved just having them on in the background while working or just sitting down comfy to watch some Friday Night Fisticuffs.

I suppose they'll still be doing stuff on their individual channels but hearing that Matt and Pat are no longer friends hurts

At least woolie and pat are going to keep podcasting alongside their solo channels. Their LPs have been my favorites.

Never watched them, but I'm vaguely familiar with Woolie just because he went toe to toe against Daigo in SF4 at Evo many years ago.

I never watched their content partly because I felt the name "best friends play" would just make the inevitable breakup video all the more sad and awkward.

Their fighting game videos (Friday Night Fisticuffs) are oddly relaxing for me to watch, I usually put them on before bed. I love watching them all get bodied in Smash by Liam

Apparently Matt's been sounding kinda down in their last few playthroughs and podcasts so people saw it coming but just chalked it off as him having a bad day or something. There's supposedly bad blood between Pat and Liam too, which is way he left during the Omikron LP and caused Matt to take a break too :/

There were a few concerns but nobody really expected the whole team to collapse.

A while back their fourth member, Liam, left the channel and started his own, and the others followed suit while still uploading to the main SBFP channel. Since then the splinter channels started getting more focus, and only Woolie seemed to be putting any real effort into the group playthroughs. They're each popular enough to survive on their own, so in hindsight even without the falling out this probably would have happened sooner or later.

I think it has to do with Matt having low self-esteem and being extremely sensitive to criticism by his own admission, and Pat's main brand of humor being dunking on someone else. Woolie and Paige just roll with the punches and fire back, but not everyone is that chill, and Pat doesn't stop when/if he realizes nobody is laughing but him.

It's funny to watch but it'd be infuriating to be friends with someone like that.
