anyone else love his novels and novellas? I'm currently tearing through 11/22/63 and it honestly might beat The Gunslinger as my favorite. Really like the IT references.

Different Seasons probably has the highest quality to pages ratio though, some of his best stories are in there.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
The Shawshank Redemption and Art Pupil are hands-down two of my favourite short stories out there.

I really need to read The Stand, I hear that one is great.

Both are excellent. Different Seasons in general has some of his best work, IMO.

The only thing that's keeping me from reading 11/22/63 is its length.

Despite the massive amount of old sci-fi books I read as a kid, for some particular reason I never really got into King's writing despite enjoying te genre. I remember reading Misery, but that's about it.

Then again King's got a bit of a pension for horror. Not something you'd really find at a school library unless you were older.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
I've heard nothing but good things about 11/22/63, I should get around to reading it at some point.

I just started watching 11.22.63 on Hulu and it's pretty awesome thus far.
