I see people complaining about the way Yoda acted in TLJ, how his more 'jokey' personality was just an act to trick Luke, and it ruined him by making him act like that again. Is anyone else... really not bothered at all by it? Like yeah Yoda could be deadly serious, but who's to say he could never be genuinely cheeky and more relaxed when he wanted to be? Is he supposed to be 100% serious ALL the time? If he wants to have fun, let him.

Exactly.A plot device. I won't lie, I became a little sad that things turn out so poorly for Luke, but the character himself, and the circumstances he was in, were far more interesting than their EU counterparts set during the same time frame.

I just wanted the same Luke that I saw in the OT. A Luke that developed more, not regressed and threw away everything he learned.
He's 30 years older, and had failed as a jedi, leading to disaster; it's almost exactly the same character arc as Obi Wan. Why would you want to see a flawless character with nothing to overcome? That's all he ever was in the EU, and it's good TLJ changed that.
Still haven't seen it. Is it still SJW stuff?
Quote from: Genghis Khan on December 24, 2017, 07:03:15 AMStill haven't seen it. Is it still SJW stuff?Absolutely. At one point Luke says the Jedi Order failed because it was run by men. Then Rey goes on monologue about Trump and why white people need to end.On another note, have you ever contributed anything to any thread on this site? I know you're an alt or at least not genuine, but sometimes parody accounts are funny. You aren't. Your posts are nonmedy; if I am smiling and in a good mood, and I read one of your posts, I find that my smile is gone.

I decided to watch Rogue One for the second time, to see if I'd actually like it more......and it fucking sucked. It was shot really nice, but the characters were so fucking bland and the plot was so boring I actually fell asleep for like 5 minutes during the space battle. Do people seriously consider this the best one?

Quote from: Best Boss on December 14, 2017, 03:42:23 PMSpoilerWhat did you think of Super-Leia?And the completely pointless Finn sidequestSpoilerReally stupid. Just like half the other things in the movie. The predictable hail mary in the opening fight. The fact that every important character comes close to dying but doesn't. (Leia in space, Poe with the explosion in the hangar, Finn with the execution, Rose with the speeder, Rey with Snoke). The "don't attack what you hate, save what you love". The everyone knows Luke is going to train her but let's spend the first half of the movie on her trying to convince him. The "wow we got locked up with a master code cracker just when we needed one?". The "wow it's the little kid who's going through the exact same thing Rose went through who now just happens to be where they're escaping". The "wow they're about to be arrested or killed when somehow BB8 and hackerman just so know where they are". The comic relief reactions when almost killed and the fate of the entire galaxy seems doomed but haha this is a natural response. The entire "our guns aren't accurate enough, we're just too slow and they're just too fast so we'll just do this for the next 18 hours" bullshit. And so, so much more. Don't get me wrong, there was really good stuff too. The overall sound, visuals, action and plot. Finn and Rose meeting. The Rey + Kylo and Snoke moment. The admiral's plan and Finn's reaction / character development. Kylo becoming the Supreme Leader. Rey's parents actually being nobodies (subject to change, of course). But the bad stuff was so eye-rollingly bad that it actually annoyed me.
SpoilerWhat did you think of Super-Leia?And the completely pointless Finn sidequest

holy shit this movie suckedliterally step above attack of the clones
YouTubeI can see now why people didn't like this movie.
SpoilerBut then there's shit like Snoke dying like a fucking nobody
Spoiler All of the different moments where they could have committed to something that pulls the rug out from under you but didn't are very obvious and I would've applauded them had they fully gone through with each and everyone but they don't, they copped out every time. Rey venturing to the dark side, KILLING fucking Leia, Rey going with Kylo's plan, killing Finn (that would've made the movie an instant 10/10), Kylo turning back to Ben, they could've done any of these things but chose not too. I hope they're lack of action on these was more caused by spending too much fucking time with the damn cruiser chase.
Spoilerthe movie was too quippy.
