SpoilerThat ending shot with the Force using kid felt tacked on purely to set him up in a later film. Ugh.

No one who worked on the movie is sitting in the theater where you're watching, the applause means absolutely nothing. It's kind of masturbatory, like giving yourself a pat on the back for sitting through a film.Besides that I really don't mind it, just kind of silly.
Spoileranyone else feel snoke was disappointing? I thought he'd detect what kylo was doing but nope. Him falling off the the throne was pretty satisfying tho

Having had a couple days to process it all I really dislike is the frequency of jokes and the Canto Bight stuff, as well as Rose in general.Aside form that it was a good character driven Star Wars film. Kylo Ren continues to be one of my favorite characters.Rey wasn't as irritating either.

But Canto Bight just felt like the obligatory Mos Eisley Cantina scene to show off how cool the SW universe was, and that whole sub-plot with the kids was just bad.Like, isn't that what droids are for? That whole angle just felt really out of place for Star Wars.

SpoilerWhy did Luke even leave a map if he didn't want anyone to find him, and just wanted to die at the Jedi shtine?
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rian Johnson’s writing. The humour is extremely blunt, and without a solid grasp of genre tropes and basic story telling most of his subversion of expectations will go over a typical movie goers head. There’s also Luke’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The true fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these choices and dialog, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Star Wars: The Last Jedi truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in the critical plot line on Canto Bite which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons & Peter Singer’s Animal Liberation. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Rian Johnson’s genius wit unfolds itself on their movie screens. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a Star Wars: The Last Jedi tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

SpoilerThe casino part and the dog-horse race afterwards was one of the worst sequences in any Star Wars movie.
