To be fair Rogue One and Solo are two side stories latching onto the OT that don't do much to expand or add anything of value to the universe whereas from what I've heard The Clone Wars does a lot to stand out as its own thing while greatly contributing to the series.

Probably because you can do a lot more with a series, so one or two unnecessary things can be forgiven, unlike dedicating an entire movie to it. Hell, maybe the movies would have worked better as arcs in a series, who knows.
