He was originally billed that way at casting, but I haven't heard much of him in the movie. He had less screen time but I would classify him as a main character.

QuoteStarkiller Base was destroyed by a Resistance attack, due to a weak point which was damaged by pilot Poe Dameron, causing the explosion of the whole planet. For the next movie anybody else think it's going to be about the First Order having some major victory over the resistance?

So they have so many signs that Rey is Luke's daughter. Like sooooo many it hurts.
I just got back from watching it the second time. This time I noticed Luke standing next to a tombstone it looks. If it is, I wonder who it's for.

Like sooooo many it hurts.Somebody said they saw Luke's robotic hand on Rey's shoulder as a child in her crazy lightsaber flashback.I didn't notice that myself though.I don't have issues with her being his daughter because that raises the question: who is her mother?SpoilerLeia. Sep7agon got it's incest story of the decade.

Why are they called the resistance anyway, what is there to resist? The Republic won, they defeated the Galactic Empire, so why call them the resistance?

The Force is only balanced when the Dark Side doesn't exist. The Dark side is being present not balanced -- the Dark Side itself is an imbalance.
Or alternatively you could say that balance was achieved when only one side existed. The Sith Rule of Two rule was present for a bit of an important reason.

That's why the Force always tries to correct itself via prophecies and such.
It just doesn't make sense how the Empire is still alive and strong 15+ years after the death of Plagueis. The first goal of the Rebel Alliance would be to eradicate the Empire, no?
Balance refers to a balance between being an emotionless husk of a monk and being a raging lunatic that does cartwheels through the air while screaming.

So clearly their idea of "the force in balance" is no Sith. And eventually Anakin did just that, as Darth Vader when he killed Sidious.
