To be fair, I am quite sure that they weight a lightsaber to be a bit topheavy due to the nature of the weapon. You wouldn't want all of the weight off balance. It's one of the reasons that pistols tend to be heavier towards the barrel (besides recoil compensation), so that it's more evenly distributed once a magazine is loaded. And Kylo did have some combat experience. IIRC, when he went dark, he destroyed Luke's academy and killed a lot of other trainees.
Starkiller Base was destroyed by a Resistance attack, due to a weak point which was damaged by pilot Poe Dameron, causing the explosion of the whole planet.
For the next movie anybody else think it's going to be about the First Order having some major victory over the resistance?

How's the first order doing since their base ended up getting destroyed? Is it a major set back or is it one they can easily recover from?
Why are the called the resistance anyway, what is there to resist? The Republic won, they defeated the Galactic Empire, so why call them the resistance?

The Republic won, they defeated the Galactic Empire, so why call them the resistance?I believe it's the new Galactic Army. The Republic from the prequels didn't have an army so the Resistance would be the army. The First Order would be the thing they are resisting. Just because the Emperor was killed doesn't mean there isn't anyone to fight. I would say it's a bit like the Republic vs. The Separatists.
It just doesn't make sense how the Empire is still alive and strong 15+ years after the death of Plagueis. The first goal of the Rebel Alliance would be to eradicate the Empire, no?
Now they're more on an even playing field because let's face it, the Rebels were huge underdogs in the OT.
Quote from: TBlocks on December 19, 2015, 07:11:25 PMNow they're more on an even playing field because let's face it, the Rebels were huge underdogs in the OT.Well that's why I'm complaining, because this entire movie is so focussed on recreating the feeling of ANH that it disregards the ending of RotJ. The Rebels should've just taken over the responsibilities of the Empire after the Emperor died.
Hmm... But would they have the manpower to do that?Like would the thousands of Stormtroopers just up and serve a leader?
Quote from: TBlocks on December 19, 2015, 07:21:15 PMHmm... But would they have the manpower to do that?Like would the thousands of Stormtroopers just up and serve a leader?I don't feel as those the stormtroopers are too concerned with who they're serving. Without their leaders (Tarkin is dead, Vader is dead, Sidious is dead) the Empire's governmental responsibilities should be passed onto the people that usurped them.I don't have a strong enough understanding of the political climate of Star Wars to give you a definitive answer. It just felt like, after 10 years, with force being back in balance, things would, y'know, change.

Harrison Ford wanted Han to die years and years ago. He publicly said he would only do EpVII if Han Solo was killed off on screen.

It's not impossible that JJ was able to entice Harrison to do another movie with a big enough paycheck.Stop making excuses for cunts to be cunts.

He didn't have a change of heart because it was the one condition he laid down a few years ago regarding EpVII

Alright, cut it out you two. OT: Is Poe actually someone you'd consider a main character? He was originally billed that way at casting, but I haven't heard much of him in the movie.
