It still gives background to the universe, that doesn't mean that it doesn't connect to the universe because it does, same with Halo, Noelle you just went from being smart to being incoherent.

Nope, Star Wars EU is canon.

It's not canon, deal with it, the EU have there own version of what happens, they could put in some of the EU into the movie, remember Halo 3 and the flood level, there were some hints on the fall of reach book, thats because they put some of the EU in Halo 3, that doesn't mean that the EU is not connected to the Universes of Halo, same with Star Wars, jesus are you that stupid?

It sucks that the Halo books are not canon, does it not?

Bungie gave the green lights of the books canon, same with 343i, and now Microsoft, here's the problem with Halo 4, not everyone reads book, and that's what Halo did wrong, it's like watching a movie and you have no idea whats going on, then you realize that you need to read the books to understand whats going on, Bungie made the game easy to understand because you don't need to read the books to understand whats going on, the game will tell you about it and it will be easy, it's the same principle with star wars, as much as i love the EU, i don't think that we need to understand what's going on at screen unless you really love the EU that much, besides some of the EU on Star Wars is messed up with a mess here and there, so i'm glad there going to fix the EU and make it better, sorry that you're to stupid to understand.

Nope, Star Wars EU is canon.

Official Statement from Lucas:

“In order to give maximum creative freedom to the filmmakers and also preserve an element of surprise and discovery for the audience, Star Wars Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same story told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. While the universe that readers knew is changing, it is not being discarded. Creators of new Star Wars entertainment have full access to the rich content of the Expanded Universe. For example, elements of the EU are included in [upcoming animated series] Star Wars Rebels.”

It specifically states that the Star Wars (TM) EU [Expanded Universe] including anything after the official Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (TM) canon is no longer in the Star Wars (TM) canon, respectively.

You stated that the EU [Expanded Universe] is canon.

That is the direct opposite of what was stated by George Lucas (the official creator of Star Wars (TM)).

According to multiple legal documents and human common sense, the official statement above carries more authority than you (Noel), respectively.

According to the Oxford Dictionary (which is a credited, reliable source), the definition of wrong is:
"Not correct in action, judgment, opinion, or method"

Objectively, you are wrong Noel

Did the games ever tell you about a precursor, did it ever tell you about the ISO Didact, did it ever tell you about Chakas and how he was 343i Guilty Spark, no, think about it.

Think about what? How nothing in the Star Wars EU is canon, so it is declared to have never happened? How the Halo books were declared canon, so it is declared to have happened? How a movie that needs a book to explain it is a bad movie?

It happened in there OWN timeline, not the MAIN plot of the story we see on games or screen, it's canon to there OWN timeline, the reason why Star War's EU was non-canon was because that some of the EU's are broken and shit, Halo never had that problem so it was green light to the books being canon IN there OWN timeline, and yes it's bad to watch a movie that you need to read the book for understanding, i see that you forgot about Halo 4 or that you never played it.

Good, because if it never happened, it can't connect with the canon things. Because it never happened.

Except they're canon, because both Bungie and 343 declared them canon.
Lucas and Disney declared Star Wars EU as non-canon.

I'm baffled by how you're having difficulty understanding this.

The difference being every piece of lore in Halo is canon.

Also, Halo is a bad example because there was jack shit for Forerunner lore to begin with. If you want to do anything with the forerunners, you're going to have to pull it from your head (Example: Composer, Neural Physics, Ancient Humanity/ San Shyuum, Chakas etc) because there was nothing there at all. All there was was the two Bias', Didact, Librarian, Flood War and Halo array. You can't do much with jut that.

Even then we managed to figure a lot of that out: Cortana in the game was a fragment being used to study with Halsey until the last scone that was joined with the 'main' Cortana on the autumn at the end, the timeline does make sense in canon (Though not in terms of common sense) and stuff. Reach does fit for the most part, though leaves several questions suh as how the navy wasn't mobilised against the invasion for upwards of a month and stuff. Also, one Retcon being te book mentions the elites first being encountered at reach which we definitely know is non canon, and a bunch of minor tidbits which were fixed in the 2010 reprint.
