The original creator Monty Oum died yes, but the writers and other animators are still with RoosterTeeth (though I think one animator left the company). He didn't do all the work alone.

It looks better but it still looks like babies first CGI cartoon. For being developed by Rooster Teeth, one would think the CGI would be better.

The real disgrace is that Monty had a whole bunch of ideas for it that RT promptly ignored as soon as he was gone. RWBY is something he really, really wanted to do, and he wanted it done his own way, but evidently the wishes of a dead guy don't mean much to them.
