I hate it how they try to hit the opponents lightsabers more then they try to hit the other person. They sacrifice tactical advantage for fancy spin moves and choreography.

Lucas was literally just wanting to show off the different fighting styles.  Sure they're cooler than just the standard slashing/stabbing, but the movies made it look way Too staged.

Fixed

I was seven and saw it in theaters as my first Star Wars film. It has its enjoyable moments and excellent score by John Williams. Some cringe-worthy moments from young Annie. I wonder if Lucas could redo the entire prequels if he would have introduced Anakin to us during the Clone Wars as a young adult instead. Most of the effects still hold up and the sets that are actually there are aesthetically pleasing. Shame parts of the movie are bogged down by trade agreements.
