You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

Gats pls listen. From someone who is overly obesessed with Star Wars, this is the best way to watch for a complete story.

1) The Phantom Menace (despite the hate, its a good movie seen with freah eyes)

2) Attack of the Clones (this movie is kind of cringy. Consider it a giant prolouge for the next stuff

3) The Clone Wars (all 6 seasons are on Netflix. Season 1-2 are mainly character development. Becomes really freaking good in Season 3 and beyond. Episodes were aired out of order. I'll PM you a chronological list if you want.)

4) Revenge of the Sith

5) A New Hope

6) Empire Strikes Back

7) Return of the Jedi

8) Star Wars Rebels (Takes place between Rots and ANH, but just started, so it's not complete. Must watch if you liked TCW.
9) The Force Awakens when it releases.

Start with the old ones. That's what Stars Wars was, and at the core of everything, all it really still is.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
IV - V - I - II - III - VI

If you just want the movies that have relevance to each other:

IV - V - II - III - VI

I'm not saying to take out due to quality (although it does have enough QUALITY to go around), more for the fact that the plot is completely internalized and is never meaningfully referenced even within the prequel trilogy.

this is pretty much the go-to order

I would say if you follow this order, you might as well leave out the Phantom Menace. It really was an unnecessary sort of "prologue" that doesn't add anything, and most people who watch it lose their faith in Star Wars anyway. Even though it's not that bad.

The machette order sound okayish in theory, but it's horrible for first time watcher. It should only be watched that way if the viewer has seen the whole saga before.

The original trilogy, obviously

I think you mean, 'the trilogy'.

Because, y'know. Only three films were made, back in the '70s and '80s. And none were ever made again.

Oh right, three movies and the Christmas special. That's widely considered the best of the lot. Trust me, OP, you'll love it.

Yeah there were.

There was the Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. All of them were marketed as prequels to the first three films and tell the story of Anakin Skywalker as he becomes a Jedi Knight, leading up to his downfall as he becomes Darth Vader.

They're all here on IMDb. They existed. They happened.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121766/

Oh, and they're the best in the series.

We're not talking about the superfluous special effects added to the original trilogy; we're talking about the best three films in the series. You know, the prequels.

They're only the best if you have no idea how a cohesive plot works and just like watching shady characters making unknown negotiations with offscreen villains, big laser-y fights, and no real core narrative for why any of this is happening.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work for a first time viewer. It cuts out the unrelated plot of Episode I and serves to preserve the twists and turns of the plot while also better establishing parallels between Luke and his father.

The only problems I see are
Spoiler
Leia somehow remembering her real mother and R2 getting a downgrade technologically from the prequel series.

And those are more minor annoyances than groundbreaking issues.

and the stiff lightsaber duel between ben and vader in episode iv

but i guess that can be chalked up to "they got old"
Spoiler
(except yoda is 800 something and duels like a pro)

star wars is retarded in general and is only genuinely appreciated by children and nostalgiafags
having bred one of the most rampant and retarded fanbases of all time

If you watched it before ROTS released then you'd have the same question.

Besides that,
Spoiler
I always assumed Vader was a Cyborg in the OT since every robot has stiff movement. Example being C3-P0.

You're retarded for thinking the awful prequel trilogy are the good ones.
This is a fact

I don't like the OT because of nostalgia or because I'm a child either. I like them because they're good movies.
