And the people told me I sent the wrong item which I obviously didn't. I asked them for evidence, they refused, contacted amazon and now they get to keep my vita and I lose $100.

Forgot to mention that I shipped the item 20 days ago so they got the item at least 2 weeks ago. Little Johnny got bored of it so they made up a bs claim and now can sell it and make $100. (They were refunded)

Same thing happened to me on eBay with an iPhone. What you have to do is tell him to mail it back to you so you can refund the money. IDK how Amazon does things, but Paypal/eBay will give you a prepaid postage for you to print out that is tracked, so they know when the item gets back.

But really, the only way to protect yourself is to make a video of you demonstrating the device's functionality while referencing the buyer's username, so it's clear the video is recent. People have tried to scam me several times when I was selling iPhones and yeah, it really does suck that most large marketplaces cater exclusively to the buyer.

edit: additionally, you might consider moving funds out of the account that you receive payment to from Amazon and Paypal as soon as you are paid. It's frequent that scammers will pay and then claim "Item Not As Described" and the system will automatically hold your money.

Yeah I was talking with them about it. Pretty much said they have no reason to believe me, which is funny because they have no reason to believe the customer. I'm gonna ask them to take a second look at the case because its very clear I got scammed. If I sent them the wrong item then they should send me a picture of what I sent them.

Ask those bastards to check the customer's profile frequently to see if he ever has a Vita on sale, you should have sold me that Vita dough, 100$?! Man I would've taken it off your hands

$100 is pretty standard for gen 1 vitas but yeah I'll def check their profile.
