It's getting rave reviews by a culture that thinks they "fucking love science" because they saw a cool gif on Facebook. Don't take it scientific face-value, just enjoy the ride and set aside the knowledge that using real science would make a movie utterly boring.
Awww :(

Gonna watch it soon! My taste in modern blockbusters is usually off from like literally every person on the entire planet so...
it disappointed me about as much as gravity did (a lot). the plot didn't make much sense, the physics were COMPLETELY FUCKING WRONG, and the "professionals" that run the space program were incompetent and irrational idiots. also, it was 3 hours long.

2/10, would not recommend.
Damn, surprised the physics were wrong considering the film advanced the science behind black holes.
ACTUAL SPOILERS
yeah, there's totally a "3 dimensional 5th dimension" within black holes, allowing us to change the past with gravity or something. that's totally scientific.
I just let them run with that.

Lottsa spoilers
Spoiler
The only bits that bothered me is the fact the gamma radiation coming off that accretion disk would have irradiated everyone's balls. Miller's planet shouldn't have existed and those ice structures on Mann's planet shouldn't have been nearly that stable considering their size. Also the fact they launched the rocket from middle of their fucking work area.

Spoiler
There are physical theories(a subset of stringtheory, which I'm skeptical about) where our universe is a 3 dimensional subset of a higher dimensional bulk. Considering they were dealing w/ speculation about what's in a blackhole, god like extra dimensional beings and the fact it's a movie I just let is slide.

Kip, the physicist, only worked on the visualizations of the black hole and worm hole so I'm not surprise there were a few mistakes.
i didnt like the movie part either

Actually, I was reading this and it basically explains how insanely accurate the film is. That fifth dimension thing was basically this:
Spoiler
That's essentially the fifth dimension flattened into three dimensions. The fifth dimension is literally beyond anyone's comprehension, which is why 'they' made it three dimensional for Cooper to understand, according to TARS.

that does make sense, they were very particular about it being a Kerr black hole. Which is a duh now that I look at it because no real black hole should be a swarzchild black hole.

the most important plot device in the movie was the 7 years to an hour thing, but that was complete bullshit. i can overlook small inaccuracies, but in a movie heralded to be, essentially, a documentary, such a glaring error ruins it.

Because it's a good film with an interesting plot and ending.

Just because you can't get past muh incorrect time dilation even though the extreme value of 7 years per hour was meant to introduce the audience, who most likely haven't heard of time dilation before,  to the effects of time dilation in spaceflight, doesn't make it a bad film. Especially since this is probably the first time you've heard of time dilation.

the movie combined with the theater triggered me. their lense was fucked up, their soda machines were broken, the ticket guy was rude, and one of the speakers was broken, so the entire movie sounded like it happened to the left of me.

What is it even about?
Spoiler
Humans on Earth are struggling to grow food, and therefore everyone is starving, it's due to dust storms or some shit. Governments are essentially taken down to the bare minimum, no militaries, etc, it's all above making sure the human race survives. There is a secret NASA that nobody knows about, because if the public found out there was money being spent on a space program while everyone else is starving they'd all go ape shit. Cooper, the main guy in the story finds the coordinates to secret NASA, he is also an engineer, and used to be a test pilot, so he's not some retard.

Secret NASA found a wormhole that opened next to Saturn like 50? years ago, something like that. They send probes, which leads to that to a few potentially habitable planets in another galaxy, it's also worth noting that these planets orbit a black hole, which is possibly a binary white dwarf, black hole system, I forget. They end up sending humans in the wormhole to land on the planets, these humans are on a one way mission, they are expecting death, buy they're doing it so they can hopefully one day find a suitable planet for humanity to live on as Earth is in the shit now. For some reason I forget, they can only send back limited data about their planets, so they end up sending another crew of people through the wormhole to retrieve the data from the people on these planets. Cooper ends up being on that second mission, and they get up to shit, I don't want to spoil this, it's the main bit of the movie.

Time dilation ends up playing a big part in the movie, hence why I mentioned the planets orbit a black hole. The time dilation is really over the top, but it forces the crew to think of time as a resource, if they waste minutes on a planet, they waste months back on Earth, so they need to do everything in a timeframe that doesn't end up as centuries on Earth, and everyone just ends up dying on Earth.

Meanwhile on Earth, given that wormholes can actually exist, a physicist comes to conclusion that it's possible control gravity, which would allow them to build huge spacestations on Earth, and lift them into space, and to other planets, so he begins trying figure out a theory to gravity in an attempt to exploit it. There is much more to this bit, but it's a huge spoiler.

After this bit is where the film gets good, but becomes more science ficiton. The ending is really interesting.

I'm certainly liking the implications that the movie seems to want to explore, might give a go.

Added a bit about time dilation into the spoilers.
And it's a great film, certainly one of the more interesting ones, but everything links together in ways you wouldn't think of.

But according to this article again, even the time dilation is plausible. It's one of the first things addressed in the article, but there's a lot of equations that I don't understand so I'll just tell you to read it yourself. The author did give this equation, though, in which the righthand fraction depicts the 1 hour = 7 years thing.
Spoiler
It's important to use the Kerr metric instead of the Schwarzchild metric because the Kerr metric allows for three possible stable orbits.

The only glaring error is in assuming a non-rotating metric when the film itself specifies a rotating one. The Kerr metric allows a stable orbit at a distance close enough for the magnitude of time dilation needed.
