The father was on the losing side, and they got absolutely massacred. As a result, the U.S. no longer had a democratic system, and fell into the same fold that pre World War II Germany fell into. One powerful leader who propels the nation into an era of growth and success. But it doesn't last long. As a result, a civil war breaks out between the new regime and those who were trying to retain what the US was originally about. The father tells the story hoping he could convince the son to try and rekindle another civil war. All remaining survivors of the initial civil war are doing the same. Spreading word of what actually happened. But the son wasn't alive to experience how things were before, he was born into how things were with the new regime, and saw nothing wrong with it.The first book is the father going back and telling his son the events of the first civil war. It's the most informative and sets the plot and setting in motion. It's fairly dark, but as a result of the way the father tells the story, it's not as dark as it actually was. You hear/ read what you he wants you to know. You read from the sons perspective. And see how he reacts and refuses what his father is telling him.The second book is what happens after, and is the darkest book. It portrays the sons psychological deterioration, and is written in the most depressing way possible. Because it's the sons journal. What he feels and what he sees is written down. Your reading his account as it happens. The third book continues the story and ends it. This book actually requires a co-write for plot reasons. And the person has to be European. It's meant to be similar to how WW2 Germany was under the nazi regime. Those fighting the true Americans, are forced to do it. Not everyone wants to fight. And that's made evident.Sorry if my grammar is terrible, writing from a phone is kinda difficult
it's about damn time, you said you were making me a character in the story three years ago
