which is weird, you'd think that you guys would have loved the idea of a self-containing weeb zone.

I just fear that it might scare away certain new users. Putting anime on the same level as the boards of general discussion and gaming could give the wrong impression that we are a forum with a strong and specific focus on anime as one of our main aspects. I mean, would you be as eager to join a forum when one of its three primary aspects was MLP discussion and content?

Still a pretty big difference between having a significant amount of weebs on the site and actually putting a separate board up at the same level as Gaming and Offtopic discussion. Doing so would give a pretty false impression of where the site's priorities lie. I don't have anything against people getting their own place for anime discussion, but I don't think it should become one of the main boards or aspects of the site.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should split a new board for it either, I was just amused by how the ones who complain about anime content were the ones to yell fuck no in Isara's thread with one or two thinking it would be good to get anime discussions out of their Flood.
