I don't have a reason to dislike it yet. You do have until July of 2016 to upgrade though.

I don't understand why this is a big deal. If they are using the data for constructive purposes and aren't releasing it to the public, why should you care?

I don't see why not. I've had a highly positive experience with the upgrade. It didn't take very long to update, and the program itself is as clean and quick as Microsoft says it is. But if you are still worried, you have a year to update before it gets a pricetag.
