Is there an estimated figure of the revenue they bring in?

I remember a figure from 2009-2010 that including their yearly 37million they ended up costing around 200 million. I don't know much about the matter but surely 200million is extreme?

It would make no sense to have them pay tax.

If they weren't kept as high and mighty rulers we wouldn't need taxes to pay for their protection, or whatever else it goes towards. Then a percentage of their revenue still generated from tourism can be siphoned off to go to something else, or their vast amount of totally private properties (which I hardly believe are all occupied) can be opened as attractions, generating further profit.

They give the U.K. government more revenue from their lands than their salary costs the taxpayer.
