tbh if the threat of MAD ever failed to prevent nuclear war and missiles were launched, I'd rather we didn't retaliate except to destroy as many launch sites as possible. I don't see the point in nuclear retaliation.

The only "secret weapon" that was kept at Area 51 was the B2 Spirit before it was unveiled to the public years later

Besides, there's other military bases are that are way more mysterious than Area 51. I won't be surprised if Lockheed Martin is testing out their SR-71 successor at those sites.
