Jill, is this wall here the only thing keeping us from escaping?

The sound of the metal gate getting hit repeatedly brought a chill down Jill's spine. "Yes, solid concrete I think. But the files says that the Mongolian village that surrounded this base was used as a testing site for the infection. We might be surrounded since we awoke these things." Jill said.

If we get out of this building, you think we can make a break for it?
I can cover you as best I can with what weapons I have.

"I really hope so." Jill said noticing that the banging on the doors stopped. "You guys hear that? They stopped."

Jill walked closer to the gates, it was silent. Then she heard something coming from the ventilation shafts rapidly, "Oh no...whatever you're going to do, do it fast because I think these zombies are not dumb."

*smirks and gestures towards the wall*

*begins slashing at the wall, the sword's plasma begins breaking it down*


*hands Chris back the magnum he was given*




You'll need every bullet you've got. I'll take out anything that gets close, you both shoot and call for evac.
Are we clear?

From the vents the sounds of the approaching death got closer with loud moans of the monsters. "MORE FOR THE GRAVES."

"What the heck was that?!" Jill yelled aiming her gun at the vent.

NO TIME! WE'VE GOTTA MOVE NOW!

Jill and Chris ran behind Rtas towards the outside, the freezing feeling of the Siberian winter hit them again. They ran as they saw the Flood following them not that far behind.

*runs towards the village with Chris and Jill, holding sword at the ready*


We've got to find an extraction point and get out of here now!
I'll protect you if they get in close, aim steady and shoot straight.
Make every bullet count.


*turns to see the Flood surging behind them*


DON'T STOP RUNNING!

They entered the snow covered village, "THERE IS STILL ROOM IN MY CASKET!"

Jill heard it again, these things were talking...yelling at them. They were smart...no type of virus has ever done that to a person before. She turned and opened fire at a couple of them, they fell on the snow dead but for each one she killed three more replaced it. If this continued on, they will be overrun.

*sees a parasite approach from the right, slices it in half without slowing down.*


CAN YOU CONTACT YOUR CREW FOR EVAC?

"I already did!!"

Chris taps his comm device again.

"BASE WE NEED AN EVAC ASAP!

The sound of two choppers could be heard, "They're coming, we have to dig in until they arrive!"

*paces in front of the humans and speaks in a serious tone*



We hold them here. No matter what happens you keep shooting.
Anything that gets close I will deal with. You watch your flank and make every shot count.

We are ALL getting out of here today. I will make sure of that......



*roars in defiance and takes a defensive stance*

"Well then let's fight!"

Chris starts shooting into the mob of oncoming Flood.

*stands at the ready as several Flood fall from the onslaught  of bullets*

*stabs a combat form in the chest and kicks it off the blade*

*sees a form larger than any Elite rush from the crowd*

*rushes forward then dives to the side, dodging it's large claws. Deflects a blow and delivers an overhand slash, which gets blocked*

*another form emerges from behind*

*directs an incoming slash into the form behind, then rolls to the side. Swipes horizontally into the creatures gut, then stomps the creature square in the chest knocking it down*

*stands over the creature, tensed up from the adrenaline rushing*

BURN!

Jill continued to fire her pistol until it ran out of ammo and switched to her SMG, she fired it. Taking down several of those monsters down, "Keep firing!"

*sees a combat form approaching Jill from behind*


GET DOWN JILL!


*slides underneath an incoming slash then leaps over her*

*overhand slash cuts the parasite into two. Raises sword and takes a deep breath*



How long until evac arrives?

"Thanks! One minute!"

The helicopters arrive and hover above the trio. The three keep firing as the choppers lower and allow them to enter.

"Keep firing!!" Chris yells.

*cuts down one more enemy before boarding the chopper*

Everyone on board! We're leaving.

Jill got inside the chopper and kept firing until the helicopter left quickly from the area. Jill sat on the seat inside the heli next to Chris and sighed. She looked at the alien in front of her, "This thing, this Flood, how fast can it spread?"

*lowers head for a moment, then looks back up and speaks solemnly*


They infect any and all sentient life. One single flood spore can kill a species.
They will cover this planet in a matter of weeks, anywhere they are found would be a lost cause.

"We can't let it spread." Jill said turning to Chris, "We have to go back!"

This place is lost. We almost died ourselves, we cannot stop them.
Not right now. We need to regroup.

Take me back to your base, if my communicator is fixed I can contact the fleet and we will have all the firepower we need.
