Jill wandered inside the downstairs section of the building, slowly descending into the darkness below. As she walked down the stairs, Jill began noticing green fog blocking her vision, it had small things floating around the air. Spores. Jill didn't have a mask so she retreated towards the 3rd Basement floor. "Now I know where its coming from." Jill said to herself, "But how am I getting down there without turning into one of those things?"

"RETREAT!!"

Chris starts shooting at the mass of infected. Noticing that each of the single infected are different and seem to have been different people at one point. This made it clear that the Flood-Virus took each being and made them it's carrier but not as much a part of them. Chris wondered if the effects could possibly be reversed by using a backward version of the virus.

"We should try to get a sample of it if we can!!" Chris shouted over the din of gunfire.

"Other than that I think we should retreat and meet up with Jill again!" Chris yelled.

Tapping his comm device Chris attempted to ping Jill.

"What's happening, Chris?"

"We just ran into a huge wave of Flood infected! Me and Rtas are retreating to meet back up with you. Where ecavtly did you go?"

Chris continues to fire but notices he's running out of ammo.

"Rtas we need to go! Like right now! My gun is almost out of ammo."

Chris turns and starts sprinting from the Flood with Rtas.

"I'm at the stairs, hold on I'm coming to you!" Jill said, she ran towards the door that led her back to the dormitories. "Agh! Its not opening, I'm stuck in here!" The door wouldn't budged. "Get out of there and meet me at the 2nd floor!"

"Alright sounds good.! Stay safe up there! It's a bad sign if the door isn't opening"

Chris and Rtas were nearing their starting point. Chris points to the stairs and nearly trips on a rug while doing so.

"Rtas just run! We can't fight all of these Flood off!"

Jill ran up the stairs towards 2nd floor of the building, it was still dark but hopefully she would meet up with her team up there.

*runs up the stairs behind Chris*

*turns and fires Plasma Rifle while running*

Chris reaches the top of the stairs and looks for a shut door.

"I have no idea which one it is! Jill which one is it?!"

Chris pulls out his gun and keeps shooting at the Flood as Rtas reaches the top.

"Rtas find something to put on the stairs to block them!"

NO TIME!
YOU FIND JILL, I'LL HOLD THEM HERE!


*draws energy sword and kicks an infected soldier square in the chest, sending him hurtling into the crowd down the stairs*


COME AND FACE ME!


*impales two incoming combatants and pushes them over the edge*

Jill kicks the door to the second floor in, she was welcomed to more concrete hallways. Jill sighed and called Chris through the radio, "Where are you guys?!"

"Right at the top of the stairs! Rtas is holding off the Flood and I'm looking for the door you're behind."

Chris runs to one of the doors and kicks it open.

Jill turns to see Chris coming in from the door, he was still trying to get his breath. "Chris!" She said. 

*parries an overhand blow and kicks the combat form where it's head would have been*


*lets out a growl and notices Chris and Jill*


I can't hold these off forever!

"Jill!"

Chris pauses for a moment.

"Rtas get out of there!"

"Jill just run. They're coming."

Chris runs from the door where Rtas is backing into.

"Run? But...where?!" Jill ran behind Chris.

Chris stops and turns to her.

"Where did you just come from? Surely there's somewhere in here we can hide until these Flood leave."

Chris pulls out his gun and starts shooting at the Flood that Rtas is fighting.

"I came from the guard barracks downstairs...!" Jill whips out her pistol and aids Chris shooting at the infected.

"Run? But...where?!" Jill ran behind Chris.

Chris stops and turns to her.

"Where did you just come from? Surely there's somewhere in here we can hide until these Flood leave."

Chris pulls out his gun and starts shooting at the Flood that Rtas is fighting.

"I came from the guard barracks downstairs...!" Jill whips out her pistol and aids Chris shooting at the infected.

"Is it safer than up here? Because I think anywhere is better than here."

"Run? But...where?!" Jill ran behind Chris.

Chris stops and turns to her.

"Where did you just come from? Surely there's somewhere in here we can hide until these Flood leave."

Chris pulls out his gun and starts shooting at the Flood that Rtas is fighting.

"Heh still better than here. Lead the way!"

"Rtas, follow us!!"

*cuts down a final parasite then puts away sword*

*backs up and begins firing Plasma Rifle and pistol into the mob of flood*


I'm right behind you

Jill and her teammates ran down the stairs, quickly avoiding any incoming Flood hostiles. Once they reached the guard barracks they closed the metal gates separating the sectors with Rtas putting several metal crates by the door to prevent it from opening.

Chris inspects the room noticing that this is the first time while being in the building that he saw the full extent of damage the Flood infected had caused. Claw marks on the walls, dead corpses (but surprisingly not that many), and a noticeable lack of light.

"Our first step should be to try to establish communications with base." Chris said.

"Although with that being said it's very likely we won't be able to so our next option and really our only option is to find a way out of here. We can get reinforcements once we're out of here but once again getting out should be our priority."

Chris looks for weapons inside the room they're in.

"Any ideas?"

"Before we do anything...here. This is a folder full of all the stuff the Soviets were doing here during the Cold War." Jill gave the report folder to Chris. "Everything, about the Flood except its origin or the people who gave them the samples."

We need an exit route now.
We can discuss what we've found later.

And I expect this building to be destroyed once we are out.

"We need samples, Rtas. A cure needs to be found."

"Rtas, Jill is right. This is a good opportunity to try and stop it quickly."

*snorts in disagreement*


You want a sample? I came here to burn this parasite, not poke it with a needle.

Jill sighed and walked towards the dead Soviet soldier infected she killed before when she found the reports here and ripped a piece off it, "I got my sample. Chris, establish a link with Anchorage, we need extraction."

"Will do."

Chris taps his comm device.

"Hello base? Hello? Yes we need an extraction ASAP."

Chris turns to Jill.

"It's fuzzy but I think they heard me."
