Okay so before you think i'm talking about sex, the door is to your right, this is not about sex.
THIS IS ABOUT SFW ROLEPLAY AND HOW IT CAN HELP.

So throughout the years I have b en roleplaying, 3-4 years by now. I think I can say that roleplaying has helped my writing skills, character building and story arcs.
I write stories from time to time, I would never publish them anywhere but I write them, and I started noticing the differences in my writing from 2011-2015.
I started roleplaying around 2011, being what most call a "one liner"; which only people who have roleplayed for long enough will know this is one of the most annoying ways to roleplay. However unlike a lot of one liners the first thing I wanted to do was get better at it. Around that time I was writing a story about...eh can't remember, I remember hating how I wrote it though and threw it all in the trash.
So I started getting better and better, using my roleplay character I was able to learn a lot. Like how I should build up different characters and what kind of story arcs would they work in or not. I didn't have full control of any story I was roleplaying, but I had an effect that helped me learn more and more.
Fast forward to 2015, I am writing a new story, using words I never thought of using in 2011, different styles that made the story pop out more, and having unique and interesting characters. This is probably the first story I am really proud of, and I probably would have never made it this way if I didn't roleplay at all.

Just something I wanted to point out, it's really cool how a passtime of mine helped me in such a big way.
