and Hamilton isn't going anywhere, they're adding a female to the bill but not removing Hamilton. It isn't clear yet if they'll share a bill or if there will be two $10 bills in circulation.

??? why are they not replacing Lincoln on the 5 dollar bill... he's already got another denomination (albeit one that should be phased out).

I'm going off of memory for this so it might not be accurate
Bills are phased out at different times, I think the $20 was redesigned the most recently, like 1927. So they're going for a bill they haven't 'recently' changed this time.
