Resurrection of F.

I saw the english dub of Resurrection of F yesterday, and I'd like to mention a couple of things.

Firstly that little controversy over Piccolo getting taken down by that red guy, and then Gohan nailing him with one punch despite having not trained since the Buu saga. In the film, before Gohan steps in Piccolo is going toe-to-toe with the guy and says to Gohan, "I've got this." So, that's not so bad, maybe Akira Toriyama isn't underselling Piccolo as badly as it appeared.

Secondly, when Tien arrives at the battlefield he says that he left Chiaotzu and Yamcha behind because he didn't think they could handle the battle, and Gohan says that he left Goten and Trunks behind because of their immaturity. Chiaotzu, Goten and Trunks being left behind I can understand, and I even prefer Goten and Trunks being left out because I find them extremely annoying, but Yamcha?
You see, Krillin brings Master Roshi to take part in the battle, and he does, successfully. There is no way that Yamcha is weaker than Master Roshi. This is just shitting on Yamcha for the sake of shitting on Yamcha. Or maybe Tien just didn't think it through properly, but ultimately it was Toriyama's decision and I think it was a stupid choice given that Master Roshi took part in the battle and they were just facing simple foot soldiers. I think Yamcha should have been involved.

Well Yamcha did get killed by the henchman of a henchman of a henchman.(He got killed by a Saibamen who's the henchman of Nappa who is the henchman of Vegeta who is the henchman of Frieza.) Simple foot soldiers or not the guy did get killed by one so Tien probably didn't want a repeat of last time so he left him out.

I still don't see any good reason for Goten, Trunks and Yamcha being left out. Despite being immature, Goten and Trunks are still powerful (especially if they chose to fuse, a SSJ3 Gotenks would easily be the most useful in the group), really the most reasonable explanation would have been the similarities that Goten and Trunks have to Goku and Future Trunks, because Frieza would target them. Even so, wouldn't they be able to sense everything going on and go to check it out?

And Yamcha should still be able to kick some ass, he may have not been training since the Cell saga, but he'd be far from useless, I doubt Roshi had been training either.

Anyway, I still need to see the English dub of the film, but I don't think anywhere in the UK is showing it, was anything mentioned about Buu not being present?

Gohan said that he thought they'd challenge Frieza, which is a reasonable assumption. And everyone could sense that Frieza had a ridiculously huge new power level so he didn't want that to happen.

I loved the dynamic of Goku and Vegeta. It really seems like Toriyama is making them more equal than he used to be. Showing their strengths and weaknesses, etc..

I'm hoping the next movie will be focused on Vegeta.
