Regarding last night and Kupo's ban

So I'm sure everyone has already heard on the grapevine what happened but here's the summary for clarity and questions.

One of the rules that applies to staff only is regarding the discussion or leaking of information from the HQ board that has some significance. I.e saying how it's a ghost-town of shitposts and archived threads is fine, but disclosing some of the information there is not.

A hypothetical would be a report about X user containing personal information that we remove, we can still see and access that information through the edit/report but because of this we are not allowed to discuss it.

Rest assured though, nobody in staff actually cares about that kind of thing and it always gets forgotten in a month or so. Example here is that we struggle to remember exactly why XYZ user got banned without checking the log. It's not important, but we can still access it to find out.

As I'm sure people are now half aware, kiyo was given a permaban a while ago for doing something along these lines. Leaking something from either HQ or Skype, which we promptly cleaned up and kiyo was given the boot for.

Kupo knowing that kiyo was banned and not just gone was one of the bits of info we aren't meant to discuss. Now it's out of the bag, nobody is bound by that anymore because it's utterly futile to try and cover it up when it becomes public knowledge.

It doesn't look good to have a former mod get the big spoopy red text, and since it was a quiet breach of the rules there was no real need to make it a big public announcement.

So kupo, as a former staff member, who has leaked staff shit and made yet another tedious piece of non-drama for us to clean up has received a permaban as of this moment. He is free to appeal it to Cheat or LC in which case it would revert to his present normal ban of a few months (as a result of his recent bans being measured in months not days).

tl;dr
Kupo leaked shit from staff, that shit was that kiyo got banned for leaking from staff. Now kupo is banned for that.

Sorry for the rambly read as always, questions are open but obviously I'm not going to say what the information was in the first place.

oh and if it wasn't already blindingly obvious, nobody will be banned for discussing the reason for kupo's ban. Just please keep it in this one thread for the sake of tidiness.

I really wish kupo had a better use of his time than these childish 'lol ban me' things he pulls, it's not funny and nobody actually fucking cares in the first place.

Yeah, we have a couple of options for it. That one I believe allows a person to view the site but not post/PM, some allow them to PM but not post and others are full shutout bans.

I'm not exactly sure what it is that Kiyo leaked, but all I gotta say is Kiyo should have never been voted in to begin with. That was the biggest mistake you guys made before I joined. It makes me wish I joined much sooner to give you an inside scoop, because I know exactly what kind of person Kiyo was.

As for Kupo doing this, I have no fucking idea why he would. I think he just doesn't care and wants to fling shit around or start something.

Kupo did say he was growing bored of it here, but that shouldn't be a valid reason for leaking staff info.

I guess this is why staff is iffy on the monitor roles.

I know, and it was a mistake to vote for Kiyo. I believe most of the people just wanted drama to happen. Regardless if Kiyo had most of the votes or not, she was extremely unfit and unstable. I would have overruled it and said "No, not gonna happen." if I personally was Cheat.

Yep. Cheat told me that's the type of permaban he'd give me when I was requesting one because according to him my post count is too high and he doesn't want to hide my posts as a result of that.

Kiyo was voted in for creating the second offsite forum on Proboards and running it for maybe the span of two or three days until that one was nuked as well ha. Basically it held the community that wanted to separate from B.net together just long enough for our new internet home, Sep7, to be established and introduced to us.

Yeah Kiyo is a manipulative bitch. I remember the second offsite very well. Even the first one because I was part of it. Noelle and Kiyo both false reported that one and it got shut down.

You forget entirely that the first mods were voted by users, you know? when we had like 4 users. This happens on every off-board forum, every mod team, the first bunch, aren't good picks.
