Recommended Military Surplus Rifles?

T4R. hat's I'm looking for is a good surplus rifle other than the mosin nagant. Preferably bolt-action. Anyone have any recommendations?

There's always tons of pre-war Mausers flying around.

Get an SKS. Cheapest price I've seen lately is about $250 for a Chinese variant. You're going to pay around that for a bolt action that's not a Mosin. So might as well get one that's semi-auto, and can take different magazine sizes also

An SKS is pretty much the first thing everyone thinks of. Any other recommendations?

Swiss K31 is pretty cool. Features a straight-pull bolt. Plus it's Swiss and there was some saying back in WWII that everybody in Switzerland would just need to take two shots to defeat the Germans

I dunno, but locally I could drop 500 bucks and have three of them.
