Does your grandpa know about mind overload? I don't know if its an autism thing or not but I've had nothing but a mix of thoughts keeping me up making it impossible to just "forget and shut off."

it could very well be a mix of autism and depression
or just depression

but I know people with autism that have moments where they just overload
maybe you need some good novels to help with that, I can recommend a lot. Mainly science fiction though.
