It's just the best one, in my opinion. It's got the best atmosphere, characters and music. Yet whenever I tell people that, they say I'm wrong claim Goblet of Fire is the superior film.

This song is really great too.

So I ask the people who don't hate the series, what do you think of Prisoner of Azkaban, would you say it's the best one out of all of them?

It's one of the best, yeah, if not the best. It would be hard to rank them.

I'll try, though.

III = VII (2) > IV > VII (1) >>> V > I = II > VI

In terms of the books, I think they just get better and better.

Yeah the darkness of it, pacing, and all that is great. As well as the time traveling. I liked the 5th one a lot too. I think the 4th was my favorite book, but not movie.

Order of the Phoenix was easily my least favorite in both book and movie format. I just can't enjoy it at all.

I'm gonna sound stupid, but in the whole (Insert) > (Insert) thing, does the equals sign mean it's of the same quality?

I love it too but I saw people badmouthing it on here a while ago sooo...

I mean it's a solid series, I don't see much wrong with liking it. It's a nice read, compared to some other fantasy stories which shall not be named for fear of lynching...

yyyup

basically: Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and Deathly Hallows Part 2 are my favorites

i enjoyed all the others, but the sixth one annoys me a lot because of how much they focused on the romance shit

Well that kind of stuff does tend to happen around the time you're 16, and the books were a sort of mishmash between magical shenanigans and school life.

Fun fact: I borrowed Chamber of Secrets from the library, lost it, then bought them a new one from a second hand shop. Then found the library one and kept it.

the coolest thing about the series for me, by far, was knowing that i basically got to "grow up" with harry

i know that sounds gay as fuck, but like, it just made the build-up for each installment that much more palpable

future generations are never gonna know what it was like to be an HP fan when it was still being made

and you could see that pretty clearly in the films, too--i doubt it was intentional, but still

a lot of people talk about how weird and jarring it is that the first two movies are so bright and serene and cheerful-looking, but the david yates films are all very dark and moody by comparison--but that's kind of how life works, isn't it

when you're a kid, everything seems so colorful and fun and wondrous--but when you grow up, you start seeing the world for the scary, uncaring place that it really is

it's pretty perfect tbh

I remember my Barnes n noble had an entire midnight event for it, everyone was dressed up and it's one of my favorite memories. Even if my book was worth that much I wouldn't sell it srs

The films atmosphere was about as moody as the teenagers

Maybe that's why I found the OotP film so insufferable

I think it started to get a bit tedious around book 5 but then it picked back up towards the last one

The pacing of 7.2 was just awful, and I really don't like the weird fight Harry and Voldemort had in the castle.

But yeah, all the movies are great. Could've been more faithful to the source material but as far as adaptations go, they're some of the best.

But 5 was soooo tedious.

Tbqh I kinda missed the whole school life aspect of the series in the later books but I can see why they had more important things to tackle.

Maybe that's why I enjoy the earlier books more

Honestly, I thought the series got progrssively worse than the predecessor after number 3. Each one was slightly more boring than the last. But 7 is the only one I'd describe as awful, the others are still enjoyable enough.
