Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
BUMP

Put a s-type catback exhaust system in my car. Sounds way better and a little more aggressive. Thinking about getting a new throttle body then getting a tune to make everything run way better.

It turns out people want $2000 for the triple gauge cluster I posted earlier. Found that out after offering a dude $350 for his and he started acting like I’d just banged his wife.

So I decided fuck it and stretched to a GT-R MFD instead. This bad boy is from a V-Spec II with the Nismo V2 upgrades, it features all the bells and whistles. Should be installed in the next few weeks once parts come in to make a custom loom. Pictures show test fitting where triple cluster was. Sits well on GT-T brackets, which leads me to believe it was planned to be fitted to a 1998 model initially (R34 GT-Rs weren’t made until ‘99).

pretty pleased with it tbh

Stock suspension is getting tired after 22 years of life. Also Australian roads are shithouse so the car has always felt super rough and bumpy when driving as the suspension is quite stiff (since Japan actually puts some level of care into their asphalt surfaces).

Getting a good deal on a Tein Super Street/G4 Racing front/rear combo. This should be the last thing I do before converting the body. Got a GT-R rear half cut lined up for body panels and other parts that should complete everything I need for widebody goodness. Looking forward to seeing how it looks afterward tbh

Earlier last month I had my car's fuel pump go out and didn't have it for 2 weeks. The guys at the dealership said that the computer needed an update and they did that. My dad was driving it back home and my car died on him on the freeway. Thankfully he was able to pull to the side of the road without getting into an accident. They towed it back and then that's when they said it was the fuel pump. I was annoyed that I didn't have my car but everything is back to normal now. She runs like new now pretty much. Took her on a road trip to Nevada where she ran good and I ended up fixing my MPG by 1 from the trip lmao

I'm going to wait until next month I think before buying any new mods. A guy from work told me I should get some fuel injectors which I've been looking into. After that it's definitely time for a new throttle body and then the tune. All of this is going to be really pricey and judging by how things at work have been, I might have to wait even longer before I can acquire all of this.

God dang stitched up on the diagnosis. You’d think the techs would do a road test and run a scan to check for codes before returning it.

If you’re going bigger injectors car might need to be tuned to accommodate the upgrade, but I dunno how adaptive modern ECUs are compared to old school.

They drove my car around the dealership once they updated my computer and said it was good. My dad probably drove it for about 12-13 miles on the freeway before it shut off on him.

The funny thing is that I looked online about the problem and even asked in Camaro forums on what it could be and everything added up to the fuel pump. It wasn't until they towed it back to the dealership when they told me that was the problem. I was pissed off and annoyed with them, usually the Chevrolet dealership I go to is good when it comes to service.

So Melbourne went into lockdown again (no travel permitted aside from essentials). I’m about an hour away, but the parts I was planning on picking up are there. While it’s still an option for me to go down there I’ve messaged the sellers and they’re holding onto the parts for me so I can collect after lockdown.

The only SUV I would want to own is the Jeep Trackhawk because of how batshit crazy it is. Someone at Chrysler woke up one day was like "Fuck it, let's put the Hellcat engine in a Jeep."

I’ve had it for a few days and I’m still blown away by how many features this thing has. So far ahead of its time considering it was pioneered in 1999. It’s basically a live telemetry of everything the engine is doing and comes with a programmable Shift light, a G-force meter, lap timer and data logging.
It fits the dash so well tbh

That's so damn cool. I love infotainment systems like that and for it being made in 1999 it has stuff that took other manufacturers took another 10 years to have in their cars.

Also, it's already more advanced than a modern day Masertati infotainment system.

It’s so cool man. Don’t think I’ll make use of the TV feature much since Australian commercial tv is run by rupert murdoch and sucks a bag of dicks. But the live telemetry is sick

It doesn’t have a built in head unit like most 2015+ MFDs do, but I’m considering upgrading my shitter head unit to a double din one and running 2 screens on the dash lol

I've decided to trade my car in maybe later this year or early next year so I've stopped buying car mods.

My initial plans were to keep this Camaro and find a 2007-2010 Mazda RX-8 as a project car. The problem is that Mazda RX-8s never sale around my area and I would have to drive 4 hours or more just to get one, plus the ones that are listed are the early models which have way more problems than the later models like the years aforementioned.

So now my plans are to find a 2017-2020 Camaro SS 1LE or Camaro 2SS of the same model years. I have no problem dropping $2000 on a down payment for one and plus I have a $3000 GM credit card that I paid off back in July so I'm hoping I can get a great deal and not have a $700+ monthly car payment.

Kinda stuck on what to do next tbh. I really want to put my new turbo on and make more power (260-310Kw atw/350-415 odd hp at the wheels or possibly 500 crank hp ), but I’d like to do the bodywork sooner rather than later. I don’t need much for Turbo to do its job (Injectors, ECU, Flex Sensor, Fuel Pump, Catch Can and Intercooler) should easily see me to my power goal reliably considering the health of the running gear.

I can’t afford both at once; The old body work looks pretty sorry and all I need is Rear Quarter Panels (pretty expensive for OEM GT-R) , Taillight covers, and maybe mounts/Front Reo to complete the body work. So do I make it look pretty (which will allow me to fit HKS suspension as it lowers the car and my wheels poke a fair bit on stock body vs. +50mm or ~2 inch GT-R rear quarters) or make it somewhat fast in a straight line first? Everything will be done eventually.

Also a friend is selling his 180SX and I’m really considering seeing if he’ll sell me the Shell by itself. Always wanted a 180 but I’ve already learned about the burden of owning 2 project cars.

Spoiler
but 180sx tho

I could get a 3.0 bottom end (block and crank) for $450 tops or drop $10,000 on an RB26 GT500 bare block. It has a weaker casting, cracks easier in AWD applications and is in no way superior to an RB30 block discounting oil squirters, but it was made by Nismo Omori factory and has ‘RRR’ stamped on the side of the block so you know it’s absolutely worth.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.

Taking a break from modifying my car to sort out christmas presents and whatnot. Gonna be shooting for 400+hp at the wheels real soon afterwards though. Gonna see what this turbo can do before I decide on whether or not to chase after a 3076 gen II or equivalent. Also dunno whether I want external wastegate at this stage or not.

Ecotec packing a Garrett 3884rs?

jk 😘 looks sick. I assume LT1? We might be making similar power to the wheels come february unless you slap in an even fatter cam than stock.

2SS, so it comes loaded with all the luxury features. This baby comes with a 6.2 liter V8 with 455hp and 455 torque.

Last night on the freeway I was going 80mph on the fast lane when some asshat came closer and was tailgating me. I move over and he barely goes fast enough to stay next to me. I wasn't having any of that so I put my foot about halfways down the gas pedal and my car accelerated like crazy. I got up to 120mph and left him in the dust in what felt like seconds.

my brothers car (we have the same car, except mine is a 2017 model while his is 2016 sport model) has this neat feature where he can remote start the car with the, well, remote

i wanted it really badly so i called the, uh, car people and they said my model isnt compatible with it. which is lame

i know i could probably do some aftermarket shenanigans, but id rather not do anything not official... what is that called, oem?

this happened a long time ago, but i just remembered it now

Remote Start is a luxury feature that some cars offer. A base model probably won't have it but the higher trims will.
