Ehhhhhhh Bambi sort of does that.

But I think it's more about losing innocence and growing up.

Ya know, since his mom gets killed

So I suppose in that regard you are correct. Pooh is sort of.....in a continuous state of "innocence" that never really ends. Bambi however is in the real world where innocence dies. I do remember loving the film as a kid though despite the dark themes

Exactly! A lot of good ol' childhood books are all bright and cheery all the time, but WTP actually touches on things that every kid goes through. I remember being depressed as a kid and loving those books, in no small part because of the treatment of Eeyore. He may have been a constant downer and a total mood-killer, but his friends still loved him unconditionally regardless and just wanted the best for him, always helping him out. It was actually really heartwarming.
