Hi guys this is a semi-srs thread and I need outside opinions/advice

So there's this girl I've posted about a few times you may or may not remember. She is very cute and perfect gf material, and has had a crush  on me for years. I've talked on/off with her for a while and we both have obvious feelings for eachother, though I don't show mine nearly as much and so she sometimes thinks I don't like her

Well I have a friend who's taken interest in her. At first he said he acknowledged she was "my" girl so to speak and that he wouldn't do anything, but I've recently found out he's been talking to her a lot and took her on a date a few days ago.

I wasn't actually that stressed about it TBH. I realize I never really gave her the attention/care she deserved and I mess around a lot. However tonight we were going to go to a party-me, that friend, his brother, and another friend. Well I get dressed and everything really fresh but then last minute the brother calls me to tell me they don't have room, because the girl is going with them too.

I know what car they're taking and I know they'd have room for me, awguarantee my friend told them to tell me that because he doesn't want me near her because he's scared I'm going to steal her ay from him(which I could easily but I wasn't even going to try). I'm actually pretty mad over this entire situation now because of that and one of my best friend is on my side

Any advice or opinions on what to do? My friend is telling me I should go 100% and swoop her from him but I feel like that comes across as really petty and I'm not like that

i think you should talk to her, not to swoop her up as your friend said but to let the girl know there's something still there

Why were you playing around and not taking it seriously? It sounds like you didn't seem to care and let some other guy come in and take over.

Maybe you should have grabbed her sooner, bro.
