I hitched a ride with a few friends back to my hometown where I'll be staying with my sister (begrudgingly).

I have to find a job, a car and a place soon all while finishing my last year of school so I reckon I'll be staying with several different folks in the coming months.

I've never really had a good relationship with my parents. Idk, I just never connected with them. Not to mention they're not exactly the greatest people ever.

So whenever I "do something wrong" (like I won't go get dog food because I'm entertaining guests), they lose their shit because that relationship isn't there. I guess.

Honestly, I don't know. The only thing I know for sure is that my relationship has been steadily declining with my parents over the last ~3 years or so. I've never really liked them (they're not very nice people), but I always sort of kept to myself and didn't instigate. I was never disrespectful but I never lied to them either, and I think my honesty started to piss them off. I don't mean that I'd routinely be like "Hey, you look like shit." But they'd be like, "Hey, how was your day?" And I'd reply, "Shit, as per usual." or something like that. I've been depressed for years and I didn't know that I had to lie to my parents about shit like that. I'm supposed to be the most honest with them, right?

I dunno. Maybe they felt helpless but my negativity apparently took a toll on them. In all honesty, I'm in better spirits than I thought I'd be. Most of this is probably not as coherent as I'd like but my emotions are still high right now so I apologise for that.
