Talking with Kupo made me realize something:

Shaman King, one of my top 5 manga back when I subscribed to Shonen Jump, did NOT have a proper ending and literally ended with the writer saying, "Yeah I'm burnt out and don't care anymore, so everything was all a dream, the end."

I'm regaining old feelings of sadness, anger...misunderstanding....denial.....

god damnit Kupo.

I like Kupo, he almost reminds me of Fai from Tsubasa:Reservoir Chronicle
I only heard about Shaman King, never read it. The dream cliche is overdone to the point of me criticizing stories for its usage as a convenient plot point (usually just resolving everything and rendering climaxes flat).

Well, that's only half of Shaman King's ending.  Like, I believe it ended with Yoh and Hao about to fight, and then Menta (I think that's his name...the blonde midget) wakes up to find Anna and Ryu and they all set off to find Yoh.  Then the author wrote a page-long note explaining he was just tired of Shaman King and told us to accept the "It was all a dream" ending.  Pretty much a half-assed "apology" in the shape of a middle finger.
