does this stuff even work?
Don't get me wrong i LOVE the empire, but with a new trilogy i was expecting a whole new enemy faction. Yea I know, it's not the same empire but probably just the remains or some sort revived uprise. I know it was just a teaser trailer, but from what it seems there isn't a new enemy faction...yet.

If they have any sort of love for the lore, then the Vong will probably come back in the next 2.

This Episode will probably be about the re-emergance of the Sith, now that Palps is gone, and since the Empire is left without a leader, I assume a power struggle and the Rebellion will be trying to bring the Republic back. I'm not sure if it's just going to be 1 Sith, but there very well could end up being many, and assuming Luke has restarted the Jedi order, a large cinematic Jedi vs Sith battle is possible.

Then again, maybe I'm just too hopeful. :)

In the proper EU, the empire was around in some form for centuries after the GCW.

I really hope we see Yuuzhan Vong in this trilogy though. They're so cool,

They killed the leaders and a battle station, the majority would have remained. Whilst it won't be as efficient or well-led as before I imagine it would still be a major force

The Empire was a galaxy spanning entity. Do you really think it would just go away because they killed the emperor and blew up DStar II?
