I love you, son.
"Finally, after all these star wars, the last jedi falls."

Really, Rian Johnson?

I guess you could say it awakened in Ray, or something?

I really hope the plot of this one will be more original than TFA.

Considering how they were able to churn out the script and finish principle photography before even starting Rogue One, don't hold your breath.

I really hope the plot of this one will be more original than TFA.

I thought shooting didn't wrap until fairly late last year?

Ended mid-June of last year, movie is going to be in "Finishing touches" mode for over a year.

It doesn't really take that long to make a script.

For a cookie-cutter generic sci-fi movie cliches out the ass and plenty of DIVERSITY? You're absolutely right, which is why TFA was shit out in an extremely modest time frame. But compare that to golden-age George Lucas who had several years between IV, V, and VI, most of that wasn't filming for sure. Not to mention everyone thought it was an achievement when he finished the scripts for I and II so fast, and we know how those turned out.

It doesn't really take that long to make a script.

Well it can't be as bad as some of the ludicrous shit the EU pulled, but the EU also had plenty of other characters and story arcs that would've made a far more interesting new trilogy then what Disney has in store for us.

It sounds like bad fanfiction

As much as I liked Rogue One, I'm seriously disappointed that Disney didn't put him into the movie when he would've fit very well into it. That entire time frame was his rise to power, and I get that he's the key villain for the new season of Rebels, but after the disgusting shit they keep trying to pull in Rebels (helicopter lightsabers) I feel that's ultimately more of a disservice to him than not having him in the new canon at all.

Thraaaaawnnnn

He was such a likable villain too, I haven't seen rebels but he better be badass.

And the first teaser for Rogue One came out on April 7th.

How exactly did they start on Rogue One after filming for VIII wrapped?

It was my mistake that I thought Rogue One's teaser came out significantly later (I had it confused with the official trailer from August), my bad. But it still shows that VIII's production was very much quicker than usual.

Luke will be in this one, and Kylo has Skywalker blood in him.

Even if Rey isn't a Skywalker, the family line is still heavily involved in the story.

Almost every MCU movie is churned out in the same fashion, and they've all been incredibly the same and predictable. Yeah, making a script doesn't take much time but making a good one does.

George Lucas is a shit writer though.

They might as well have called TFA that, because that's exactly what the movie did

Killing off Luke will basically give me no reason to watch these films. The new cast isn't good enough to stand on their own.

Well it's set decades after Episode 6. Things happen.
