Hey at least his shit is more original than most other directors. Plus each of his movie has something unique about them. Yeah the stories do not have some clear direction but if there is one thing that Wes Anderson is really good at, it is developing characters.

Honestly most of his movies do not have a clear plot but the thing i notice is that the interaction faults and issues between the characters creates a masterpiece with great colours and design. He is unique and has something that will survive in time, like David Fincher.

Also another person i might check out that could end up there is Satoshi Kon. After watching this vid I need to check some of his movies out.
