T4R. Got a nephew. Needs a car. It needs to be simple, reliable, and reasonably fuel efficient. Reliable enough to drive over decades old, pothole infested roads and gravel paths daily. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I seem to be homing in on a used Police For Crown Victoria. Seems like a good choice. They are reasonably priced and are built to be used by the police, so they should be rugged. I'm going to try to get one in a nice neutral grey color so the thing doesn't look too much like a cop car. Any objections?

I hear the Leopard 2A6 is a pretty nice ride for those concerned about the things you mentioned.
