nasa wants astronauts

The requirements for Astronaut Candidates are a bachelor’s degree
from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science,
physical science, or mathematics. Quality of academic preparation is
important. Degree must be followed by at least 3 years of related,
progressively responsible, professional experience or at least 1,000
hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft.

So literally none of us.

I can easily pass the physical and I'm close to getting a degree in mechanical engineering, but I have no flight experience. If I actually put in the work I probably could do it.

I'll just wait until ESA start sending people. Not the first round though, wouldn't like to be the guinea pigs for a new space rocket.

Unfortunately, at least on the citizenship part. Something to do with american space technology being quite valuable to other countries (as much of it is rooted in or has modified military applications).

It's funny as it's the same reason the ISS is off-limits to the Chinese and their... Sino-nauts? International my arse.
