I've got a NETGEAR - AC1600 that's about in your price range.Dual Band (2.3G and 5G) and Beamforming replaces directional antennas, and ensures the best quality signal on both higher end devices, and devices with less sophisticated networking capabilities. It comes equipped with network storage capabilities via USB, and all bitrates can be optimized in the browser based control panel.

Also, I've pretty much narrowed it down to a dead or faulty WAN port, so if anyone has fixed that before let me know. It's only 6 months old, so I don't see why hardware would be failing.

Have you tried sacrificing something to it?
