My real worry about ISIS

It isn't that they will win, or even their next attack. Their days are numbered and in a few years they'll be gone.

No, it's who'll replace them. With each generation the Wahabist terrorist organizations get worse. It started out with bit players like the PLO and MB. They basically thought small, and didn't act that coordinated. After Al Qaeda they've been thinking bigger. ISIS has had the biggest plans of all.

The next generation may be capable of doing things we can't imagine.

Thoughts?

Actually I think the opposite will happen, future groups will look to ISIS and hopefully understand that they cannot declare war on the world and expect to win.

Not really true. The Taliban was a medium player. They occupied the vacuum left when the Soviets left. After they controlled Afghanistan, they offered the country as a safe haven, but didn't set their sights outside.

As long as we don't leave the place in chaos after wiping them out, we shouldn't have anything to worry about. ISIS is a result of doing just that.
