She's been losing a lot of her hair and she's been getting skinnier as the days go on and she just doesn't look good at all. A thing I've noticed too is that she used to run up to my bedroom window and get my attention... she hasn't done that in a while and I haven't even heard her bark either. My dad has been taking care of her these past few days but I think this is it. For a dog that is 17 years old, I'd say she's lived a long and healthy life... but I'm not ready to say goodbye to her yet.

She was the first dog I ever owned and pretty much been with me my entire life. I don't know what I'd do without her.

At least she was taken good care for a lot longer than most dogs get.

Shit sucks. My dog of 12 years died in february. I'd had her since I was 7 and it was awful watching her degrade in the last week.

17 years is really impressive for a dog, too. What breed?

Mine as well, but I was off at college and didn't see him get put down. I had expected to hear the news since December, since that's when age started to really catch up to him, so at least it wasn't a shock.

That's sad. Hope she doesn't suffer.
