do you ever just get so caught up in your own interests

that when you find someone who likes what you like, you're like, "wait, really?"

like, i'm a big NIN fan, and i don't really meet too many other NIN fans (like... ever)
so when i meet one, whether it be in real life, or on the internet, i get really taken aback

maybe it's just because i have so few interests, i get really surprised when i meet someone who agrees
but i mean, i'm not shocked when someone says they like pokemon

because a lot of people like pokemon

what's really surreal is when my interests collide

like when i found out that death grips was supposed to open for NIN last summer until they "broke up"

like, yeah, there's not a lot of people who will question me for liking NIN, which is nice
they tend to be palatable for everyone

but what's really rare is finding someone with as much enthusiasm for something as i do

Yeah, usually. What i like is kind of rare, honestly though the amount of things i like is a huge variety but at the same time i usually keep my interests, unless it comes up elsewhere in a conversation.

I'm all about the escapism. New book every month...I love Star Wars and Halo more than anything in the world. I don't think most people would understand how much they mean to me and how they've gotten me through rough times and made me happy.
