Gunna throw in my two cents here as a horror fan.

I haven't seen this movie and i don't really have a desire to, but I'll tell you the reason why people like the movie is because it essentially parodies every trope in the horror genre. That's apparently enoough to make it good to some people, but I think that's retarded, and it looks like absolute garbage to me.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's always hyped up to be the greatest thing ever, and when it comes out you realize it's just more of the same.

Seriously, I hate going to the movies at AMC theaters and there's an Inside Look at [Insert Generic HBO/ABC Show Here] where the actors talk about how "The stakes are higher!" or "You'll this character develop more and act more human!" or "There'll be twists you'll never see coming!" it's one of the most cringe-inducing advertisements out there.
