Most depressing aspect of your life?

I don't really have an aspect of life that I'm never satisfied with. I just occasionally get these mindsets every few months where I just feel I have no value and nobody gives a shit. It's not true I know, people care. But what I know and what I feel just don't match up.

I can't legally pack my Rifle with me for a hike despite the mountains around me having illegal pot grows and mountain lions that have attacked people in the past.

Kinda makes the thought of a hike in my local mountains a little less than a fun. Fall is here, temperatures are dying down, and I'd love to go hike a couple places around here, but the threat is a little to high for Mountain Lions.

It's an amalgamation of things, not a single aspect. Crippling self-hatred, an inability to see myself having a future, and suicidal thoughts constantly plaguing my mind makes everything seem pointless. I've had therapists, taken many types of medication, been to hospitals and all that jazz, but nothing's worked. It's obvious that the only person that can help me is myself, but I don't see the point.

I've accepted since I was eight years old that I would amount to nothing, and that I would die alone, most likely by my own hands. As it stands, there's only a handful of thing keeping me grounded and sane - shitty anime waifus, books, and my own awful writing.

Just some offhand thinking here. I've talked with all sorts of people. Especially about school. I've talked to a lot of people who were the "oddballs" of the bunch. Naturally, all those people grouped together. They just have a way of finding each other.

Reading through this thread fascinates me. Look at the replies. Look at how so many of them share so many similar circumstances. How so many of us share the same thing. We're alone. We don't know where we're going. We don't know how we're going to get there. We don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. We resign ourselves to whatever fate has in store, and we don't believe that it has anything good for us.

And, on top of it all, the majority of us have roots in a mere, simple, out of the way gaming forum. And through some strange circumstance, we all moved here when our respective home lost it's golden touch.

Is it not funny, that we're all strangers from across the world, never having met in person, and yet, we're all here?

And what's truly funny, is that when asked, why we continue to come here, most of us would probably answer with a solid, "I don't really know."

Similar outcasts, always find one another. Don't know how. Don't know why.

But here we all are.

I often wonder how long this group is going to last. Are we all going to end up as some uniquely tight knit forum over time? Are we going to grow old, and stay here, talking to those strangers, our friends from across distances we likely will never be able to travel?

In time, will those bonds strengthen? Perhaps some of us will grow bold, and travel, and see a few of those faces that they talk to every day but never see. Reading through all of these various replies from people, I'm reminded of something. You people have left a mark on me.

If I had no ties, or responsibilities I would likely come visit you. Any of you. Maybe even help, if I could. Or at the very least, make your day pleasant, if I could. Something, anything to show that I appreciate any of you being there in some form.

Ah, such idle fancies. If only.

You come on here and spend some time away with whoever it is you feel like, but at the end of the road, you've gotta get up and go about your shit day. It's a shame. There's times that I've listend to people talk about what's happening on their end.

And I would argue that you have it backwards, that no matter how shit life gets, we're still able to wring some enjoyment out of it all. Even if it's only temporary and with people that you don't know beyond a picture and some text, it's still something worth treasuring.

And I feel the same way about wanting to help everyone, that's what makes us human.

Well at the end of the day at least I'll be able to say "at least Deadtrap gave a damn." It has a person to person value, but that value surely counts for something.
