Well there was a Family Guy episode where a guy was in a coma but was still mentally awake and was alone with his thoughts.

Perhaps Monty had a mental battle with some evil force, who knows.

Yeah, he thinks of batman vs. godzilla or something and then realises he can't write it down and forgets his idea.
