This is a fair point. Men are expected to pay for women which is a little antiquated. Unfortunately in my case, yes, my fiancé pays tor the majority of our bills. I use half of my paychecks to help pay our bills (that's not including my own personal bills ie: phone, car insurance, credit cards, etc.), but he makes much more than I do because he's in a specialized field, and a college degree (I'm still in school). So your point is a valid one men do tend to pay for more since that is our social standard, and therefore would only make sense that potentially they get paid more to make up for that.

While it is true that women making "the first move" is becoming more and more commonplace, it's still doesn't happen nearly as often as the reverse. There's still a stigma that girls making the first move seems desperate (not saying I believe it, but I know people who do think that).

It's easy to say that when you're not in the relationship with the girl. Some people aren't strong enough to just "end it" because their girlfriend won't pay for McDonalds. Not to mention, that the girls could be perfect in every other way possible.
